the final straw
now, i know this isnt the place to put this, but seeing as how my first posts on this site were in ventaris sell, the main body were in ventaris sell, that my last post, too, be in ventaris sell.
anyway.
as anyone in my guild can tell you i havent been online much lately. i got myself a seccond job to afford an apartment about a month ago.
each of my jobs takes up about 35 hours a week, give or take, for a total of about 70 hours a week between the two. in the past month ive been online in guildwars a total of, oh, perhaps, 5 hours.
so, imagine my surprize when i get online today, after working 11 days in a row, and descover that my main account is banned. yeah, you heard me right, my main account is banned.
now, i still have on the lines of about 20+mil in items and materials between my remaining accounts; but regardless, i have not even been online recently and contrary to what many ignoramouses may believe, i have never done anything to warrant this crap. the only thing i can think of is that my account was banned along with the however many thousand they banned for "botting," even though i havent been online recently.
as for the other possibility, they may think i was involved in selling items for cash, but when they ban accounts accused of dealing with cash for items, they generally ban the "attatched" accounts as well; accounts storing gold, ecto, materials, etc; yet my remaining 4 accounts are untouched...and are all attatched to the same name&address.
there is, in short, no valid reason for it. and of course anet sent me no letter even telling me what the accusation was, or giving me a chance to prove to them that nothing even remotly illigitimate was ever done by me in this (what has now become blatantly obvious to me) massive waste of time.
anet refuses to take action against scammers, botters, ebayers, and various other underhanded players; they let them go forth unhindered for as long as can be, polluting the game and all that is good about it; and instead decide that their time would be better spent banning people who have done nothing to deserve it.
i have bought every one of my accounts; all 5 of them, legitimatly, from the play NC website, and an additional 2 accounts for ch2. i am (or...was) a fervent fan of everything this game had to offer. despite its shortcomings on the staffs inability (and unwillingness) to handle the issues of scammers and other "damaging" players, i stuck through it. and i will tell you right here, right now, i will never again purchase any product from arena-net, play NC, or their parent company, so long as i live.
so; congradulations arena-net, you just lost a loyal customer, a loyal player, and hopefully i can convince some players to join me.
edit:
i should mention, i have never been banned before, this is the first offense.

that is a shame, i dont take this game seriously anymore, just log on ocassionally to farm and log off. I am in the process of switching to something better. Anet had pissed me off so many time in the past, first they
introduced Green, I lost close to 2 million cuz of that. then they raised the drop rate. i lost even more. I have lost faith in this game now. If akh you got a better game pm me we can play togethor btw really pissing me off is that they did this rite after faction if they did it before faction i wouldn't wasted my money on GW..... i want a refund!

I'd try to get it unbanned at least just for the moral victory, but it's your ship to sail, as they say..
Banning inconsistancies are starting to get out of hand =/

As a member of Heroes Of The Immortal [Hero], i have known of Akhilleus being gone from game and him being busy in the real world. i know there is no legit reason for this, or maybe there was a mistake. There is so many accounts botting(check elonas reach moderators...jesus so many Mo/W's ...) and so many other players violating rules and ruining the game.
Now ive heard from other close ingame friends that in the User Agreement a possible reason for getting banned is the storing of many high end items to prepare to sell for real money. But Sooo many people know who Akhilleus is; knows how big of a trader he is and how big his collection is. and i know hes never intended on selling any of it. So him storing items, for his collection i may add, got him Permentaly banned?!?
Also isnt there suppose to be a warning ban of some sort like a ban for a day, week, month ect. before you get permantly banned? And also no email explaining y he got Permantly Banned. Well this all is probably just a mistake but you did lose a very important member of your corrupted economy. i know many people have lost interest in this game due to the lack of effort on the Guildwars Staffs, im sure your trying and you think i have no idea what ur job is like... i know its hard but, u gotta do better to communcate to the players besides just Gaile Gray every couple days and tellin players like Akhilleus why he got banned. Or this game is gonna lose many veteran players. Thanks for takin the time to read... Zone Hawk

Man that really sucks. Hope you get your account back. Or at the very least an explanation of why you got banned. Really would be nice if they warned ppl about what is about to happen to their accounts. It all seems so unfair when they put you thru hell + you have to keep trying to get them to unblock your banned account.
If you do quit this game, hope you do find something better. Good luck

Yeah, this is wrong. This kind of thing has been happening much to often recently, a few guys posted in the General Discussion forums similar instances. They both sent emails (lots) to NCSoft, and they changed their mind and replaced the accounts. You should do this Akhilleus, rather than let NCSoft get away with another mistake.

Guild Wars constant Downward Spiral
Scammers, Bots, and Ebayers are all over Guild Wars but instead of banning people like basically ruin the game for everyone who choose to play the game the honest way Guild Wars Staffers decided to ban pretty much the the most known/respected trader in the game?!?!!!!
I don't know but it seems that someone need to Raise the WTF Flag!!!!
Personally knowing Nik for a year plus, and then all of a sudden hearing that he's banned for no reason giving sounds really f'd up...
Anyone starting to think that Guild Wars Staffers are just plan Ignorant?
If Anet would get their head out of their butts, and maybe actually go after for people who actually make ruin the gameplay for people, and essentially the economy maybe this game would get out if it's downward spiral (or make a game that you can't beat in 4 days when it comes out just playing casually with people so you don't feel like you just wasted 50$ on something that wasn't really that fun)...
Maybe people should go play WoW b/c at least they care enough about the customers game play to at least solve these problems
If the Staffers need a little clue about who to banned I'll give you a helping hand
Or If you want to see a better picture go to International District Dis 1 in Elona's Reach and look at all the Mo/W bots using a certain program (I won't say b/c it's bad enough that it's being exploited like this just farming all day) just to have it be put on eBay

Very sad to hear a veteran player to quit GW
Anet makes lot of mistakes with their banning system. You might give it a try to email them every single day to make them notice you. My friend got her account back by mailing Anet very very often trying to tell them that she didn't do anything wrong. And in the end she won.
At least getting your account might give some spirit to you..

Man, I really feel for you...
but I am sure you could get your account back.... I would send them an email and make them give your stuff back.. If you still want to quit, hey maybe you can give some nice gifts to your friends and guildies At least you would have a moral victory if nothing else....
Still its really a pity to see happen.
Also, King Abadon, I completely agree.... there are so many scammers or people trying to scam its incredible. I have made many comments to people and even took screenshots to send into Anet but they do nothing.... Its like, LOOK its actual proof, do you really think a Bortaks (for example) is worth 70 GOLD?!? Don't be so stupid but they just brush me off. Luckily I've never been scammed this way because I always watch very closely when I trade with people.. Sick and tired of people trying to scam their way in.... but I do know at least 3 people in which its happened to. I think if you scam, it should be an instant ban.

Sorry for double post. For some reason my Edit key is being retarded
Another thing. I seriously hope this gets stickied... and Anet will read some of these posts. I know if I went home today and my account was banned I'd loose my grip on reality. So I can totally imagine your frustration.

I may not know Akh very well and he may not know me AT ALL, but this really does suck for everyone. And, after this I decided to go find out if there was any evidence about ZoneHawk's post: http://www.guildwars.com/support/legal/
I don't know if i missed anything, but I really can't find anything about High End items leading to bans of any sort. About half way down the User Agreement, there is a statement in all CAPS that says that they may remove content, including yours (i.e. the player's items etc.) but absolutely nothing about banning your entire account, and it seems really anomalous that there was no warning ban or anything and, there was no recent EULA signing, because I'm pretty sure that if they change the EULA, we need to re-sign it again or it is void and a sueable offence. (Could any law-bodricks inform me about this if I'm wrong and making a fool of myself ^^, thanks)
Sucks, really does. Sorry
Is there any way that Anet could introduce some kind of policy where they at least send an email to the account's email address stating why they have been banned and for how long? It just seems... well, ridiculous that they could ban someone without telling them for what reason.

And now Nik is banned from guru?!?!? i know he posted in the wrong forum but geez... its like guildwars is out to get him lol. well now everyones worried about getting banned for no reason in guildwars and on guru... Well thanks once again for takin the time to read this... and maybe SOME GURU MODS CAN MOVE THIS to the appropriate forum area without banning people or shuting this down. Thanks again ~~ Zone Hawk

Looks like Arenanet is going to be losing ALOT of loyal players to this crap. If anyone is thinking of a new game to start playing, tell me and maybe we can play together (as Tommy said). That is so inciderate of them.
